Before playing Avatar games we had never heard of the city of Regina in Canada. Since we have been playing video escapes we have already been to 2 excellent locations there.
Tonight we discovered a third one called Escape Manor.
We are received on zoom by a very nice and pleasant young woman. She explains us how to play on telescape, without ever asking us if we already know, finally I prefer because we know if there are any specificities at this venue.
Very soon after the briefing we find the same young woman inside a hut. She found herself unfortunate enough to be locked in here and did not expect what was waiting for her. Especially since she played with a Ouija board.
The narration is not the most important thing in this version of the room in video, but we discover as we progress a very complete inventory, well done and very well managed by our avatar. In addition, there are logical puzzles (easily identifiable for us), but still original for a game. We always know where to go. It is pleasant and fluid.
I must admit that I enjoyed it because it's something I haven't seen for some time. At no time did we have to ask for more light or ask for the camera to be stabilised or anything else that makes Visio sometimes unpleasant.
We really enjoyed this well thought out and well managed room.
We still lack a bit of role play and maybe one or two more puzzles for the fast teams, but overall the experience was very pleasant.
I would also like to underline the professionalism of Riley and his supervisor who talked to us after the session. It was very nice to talk to people who are passionate about this.
