When I think of Colorado I think of great plains, horses, a feeling of freedom, so I must admit that an escape is not the first thing that comes to me and yet Puzzle Effect offers us an impressive number of rooms in Colorado. They decided to transform one of their rooms on escape into a Visio and the title of this room didn't mean much to me: The Reel, on the other hand the young woman who received us quickly explained to me that it was a cinema of the 80s then cinema and the 80s is something I like.
We have another layout : the zoom of the sign, but also an inventory on Skype TV. Nothing usual so far and we start with a video, and broadcast on Skype TV. To make the adventure more accessible for players the sign offers 75 minutes instead of the usual 60.
we have another layout : the zoom of the sign, but also an inventory on telescaoe, ien unusual so far. We start with a rather nice video that serves as a briefing. Our mission is to find the secret recipe of the best Popcorn! To make the adventure more accessible for the players, the sign proposes 75 minutes instead of the usual 60.
I really liked the first space, it's really a kind of movie theater. It's fun. I like to play in a space that I know pretty well. But it's not the only one!
Overall, this room is interesting. We evolve in a mix of locks and mechanisms thanks to codes and actions that are found in a context that suits the cinema. So not everything makes sense, but most of the puzzles.
I regret a little bit the lack of roleplay of the Game Master, who is a very nice young woman, but so the role of avatar does not add an extra value to the experience in visio. But it's a general remark, the narration is not really developed.
Another thing I liked was the background music. It's always something complicated when zooming in, but it's quite possible to have it on telescape and for those who prefer silence: you can even turn it off.
Overall: this room with an unusual theme is very pleasant to play. It is quite well transcribed for the visio, without really exploiting the Game master as an avatar.
+ We enjoyed +
The background music
A good part of the puzzles that are in the theme
- We didn't like -
The lack of narrative development
No role play for the Game Master
Some puzzles without link with the story
Pour ceux qui aiment jouer dans un lieu qui leur est familier
