    Our opinion:

    By Snow & Saol

After our discovery of the Conundrum Escape sign near Denver during Dead man's secret.

The first room had impressed us with uninteresting, original puzzles and a very good quality decoration. So we really wanted to see what else they had to offer.

This time it's Stephanie who is waiting for us. This young woman is a private detective (like us) and we have 90 minutes (online version versus 60 minutes for the real room) to find out who kidnapped the famous Holly Woods and where she is.

This time a zoom address without inventory will be enough for us to play.

We'll start the search in Holly's dressing room. I was immediately impressed by the quality of the furniture and objects we find here, but also by its consistency with the year in which we play. As the discoveries were made, the art historian specializing in historical interiors was delighted. There's even a surprise that made us all smile or even pulled out a "wow" or two. Even the font is chosen to match the period.

We start by searching the place and really find a lot of things. There's a nice mix of padlocks and mechanisms here. It works very well in video, but I think that in real life I probably would have liked less padlocks.

The puzzles are not always linear, which allows us, even from a distance, to think about different things at the same time.

The sequence is nice and quite clear. Through the riddles we discover things (movies, characters, places...) which gives us the impression of being in a familiar place and makes us feel comfortable. We appreciated the narrative side of this room. It's not about running away or just opening padlocks, but about telling a story that's a bit sulphurous.

I really liked this room. It's a fluid room in which narration has its place in a neat setting. I would have regretted not playing it and I think the video format is very good, especially since the venue has found a way to show you the interesting objects and texts better.
